Face Coverings and Celebratory Family Gatherings

This week, sadly sees the start of a new normal for all of us in "lockdown areas".

Face Coverings and No Gatherings following Funerals....again!

The wearing of face coverings is compulsory for all attendees at indoor venues, this now includes Funerals in Private Indoor settings, Crematoria and Chapels.

The Celebrant is exempt as is the Funeral Director, to enable those lip reading and for better clarity of communications as they lead and support you through this very difficult time.

In order to #safely include as many people as possible on the day of the Funeral (as sadly the local crematoria at Huddersfield still only allows 10 seated inside the chapel and at Park Wood in Halifax allows 20 seated inside and 8 in the foyer area) we provide for you;

*An emailed presentation copy prior to the day - of the full ceremony words - to enable all to follow along with us at the exact moment and hold a "time and space" to be "present" with us.

*A plastic covered [sanitized] copy of the ceremony for mourners to follow along with us if standing outside or seated in the cars

* ZOOM relay of the ceremony in real time (if no option to use web streaming facilities at a venue)

*We offer you a virtual hug and handshake in the form of our #handonheart gesture and invite all mourners to do the same to maintain a #safe #socialdistance.

*We leave the ceremony at its close and go straight into the open air to "virtually" say goodbye to all attendees - as this is the safest advise available.

*We can provide a "memorial service" at a later date to deliver the ceremony again when it is safe to do so.

Sadly whilst in lockdown, any gathering following such as a Funeral Tea or a Wedding Breakfasts cannot go ahead (see GOV UK information below).

"Can I go to a wedding or funeral?

Weddings, civil partnerships and funerals can still go ahead in these areas, but they must have no more than 30 people, and comply with COVID-19 Secure guidance and venue capacity.

People living outside of these areas can travel to these areas to attend a wedding, civil partnership or funeral, but they should not meet with another household in a private home or garden.

Wedding receptions or parties should not currently take place. No celebrations involving more than one household or support bubble should take place in a house, garden or indoor public places like hotels, pubs and restaurants. Celebrations outdoors can include up to 6 people from different households.

I hope and pray that we are very soon released from this localised lockdown and in the the meantime I send you my #love and #safe blessings and of course we are here for any concerns and questions you have in relation to delivering a Creating Memories ceremony for your family occasion.
